August 2019

With only a few weeks to go, there are many exciting and informative activities organised around the world to raise awareness during Global Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week.

The United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation is organising a series of ‘Energy for Life Walkathons’ across America. Patients, clinicians, researchers and key decision makers will learn more through symposiums, information days and events in Canada, the Netherlands, Sweden, Italy and Australia. Patients around the UK will ‘Take a Stand Against Mito’ by setting up awareness stands in their local communities. Buildings, landmarks and monuments will be illuminated in green as part of ‘Light Up for Mito’.

Each of these activities plays a vital role in raising awareness.

It’s not too late to get involved. Visit  http://gmdaw.org/ or facebook.com/GlobalMitochondrialDiseaseAwarenessWeek. To find out what is happening and to register your event.

Working together we can focus the world’s attention on mito!
